Sevilla signs Sirigu on loan from Paris SG

On Friday, French capital football club Paris Saint-Getmain announced they loaned Italian goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu to Spanish club Sevilla F.C. till the season end.

29-year-old Sirigu started his career in Italy and joined the Parisians five years ago, in 2011. After playing 60 Serie A matches from 2009 to 2011, Sirigu became the first-choice goalkeeper at PSG for four years, playing 145 matches.

In five seasons at Parc des Princes, Sirigu has won four consecutive Ligue 1 titles, three Trophée des Champions, three Coupe de la Ligue, and two Coupe de France. Sirigu has played seventeen international matches, debuting in 2010.

Last season, German goalkeeper Kevin Trapp joined PSG and became their first-choice keeper. Lacking playing time with PSG, Sirigu signed the contract with Sevilla on Friday, after passing the medical tests hours before.

Per the agreement between the clubs, PSG has not included an option for Sevilla to buy the player.

Japanese earthquake death toll surpasses ten thousand

The death toll from the Sendai earthquake has now increased to over ten thousand. In Japan, the National Police Agency has stated that 10,019 are now known to have been killed as a result of the disaster.

The Agency also reported that 2,775 had been injured and the location of 17,541 individuals was unknown. Meanwhile, 1,900 evacuation sites are now thought to be occupied by approximately a quarter of a million people.

Indian Markets hits record close in Diwali trade

The Indian stock market ended at an all time high on the Diwali 60-minute Special trading session on Friday. The sale of a 10% stake in Kolkata-based Coal India last month was the biggest share sale in Indian history and banked the government 3.4 billion dollars. Coal India has risen 43 percent since listing at the stock exchanges this week.

Five United States ex-presidents raise relief funds at hurricane event

On Saturday night, former United States presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter and father and son George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush attended a concert at the Reed Arena in Texas to raise funds for hurricane relief. This came after a week of comments from Obama and the younger Bush that many in the press have read as critical of the sitting president, Donald Trump.

The event, called “Deep from the Heart: The One America Appeal”, part of the One America Appeal charity effort, featured country music and gospel performers such as Lyle Lovett and Yolanda Adams, and an appearance by singer Lady Gaga. The funds raised are meant to aid victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, which struck U.S. soil in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Former President Carter told the audience that Habitat for Humanity, a charity with which he works closely, has pledged to build 6000 homes in the affected areas.

The current U.S. President, Donald Trump appeared virtually at the concert: “Now, as we begin to rebuild, some of America’s finest public servants are spearheading the One America Appeal. Through this effort, all five living former presidents are playing a tremendous role in helping our fellow citizens recover,” he said via video.

Former presidents Obama and the younger Bush made, in the previous week, comments that journalists interpreted as critical of the sitting president. Though neither former president mentioned Trump by name, the younger Bush claimed “We’ve seen nationalism distorted into nativism, forgotten the dynamism that immigration has always brought to America,” in a speech in New York. “We see a fading confidence in the value of free markets and international trade, forgetting that conflict, instability and poverty follow in the wake of protectionism. We’ve seen the return of isolationist sentiments, forgetting that American security is directly threatened by the chaos and despair of distant places.” “Bigotry or white supremacy in any form is blasphemy against the American creed,” he said Thursday. Slowing immigration, especially immigration of Muslims, and building a wall between the U.S. and Mexico were among Trump’s campaign promises.

As part of a get-out-the-vote effort for the Virginia and New Jersey gubernatorial races, Obama gave a speech saying “Some of the politics we see now, we thought we put that to bed. That has folks looking 50 years back. It’s the 21st century, not the 19th century. Come on!” He also refuted President Trump’s recent claim that he, Obama, had not visited soldiers wounded in combat.

By later Sunday representatives of the appeal said it had raised well over US$30 million from over 80,000 separate donors.

The Reed Arena is part of Texas A&M University, which is also home to former President George H.W. Bush’s presidential library.

In a free trade zone in Antalya, Turkey, 80 women workers of FMC Novamed are in strike for almost a year now, since September 26th, 2006. They allege not only low wages but also severe abuses on FMC’s part.

Novamed, founded in 2001, is a factory managed by Turkish capitalists and located in the free trade zone in Antalya, Turkey. 95% of its workers are women. It is owned by Fresenius Medical Care (FMC), which is an international corporation with its headquarters in Germany. With factories in 12 countries and a total of 100,000 workers, FMC is a monopoly in the market of dialysis products.

The first step to check out would be the actual physical condition of the machine. Nobody is going to buy an automobile that looks like it has been through a hurricane. While external damage can be fixed such that the damage would no longer be visible, pay careful attention to the floor pan. Damage there is not as easy to remove as in the rest of the car. Visible damage in the area may force the original owner to lower the price but admitting that the machine has sustained damage is the best option. At the very least, being honest about the damage spares the sellers the hassle of having to explain why they did not mention any previous damage the car has gone through. Note that this step is not as important if the intent on sell used car is for parts and not as a whole vehicle.

The next obvious step when someone decides to sell used car is to determine the price. This can be accomplished by research, usually by going through car ads in newspapers or magazines. Note, however, that the above websites list the price for stock vehicles and do not take upgrades, alterations, and modifications into account. The seller should be sure to take into account any previous repair work done, as well as any replacement or upgrade parts on the vehicle. Once all the research has been done and all the upgrades and replacements have been factored into the amount, the seller can then decide on the price.

Cleaning the vehicle thoroughly is the next step before anyone can sell used car. This includes both the outside and the inside. The glove compartment, the trunk, and the interior areas of the automobile should be completely void of anything that isn’t part of the car itself. Give the outside a good waxing. If it seems necessary, do something to make the paint job look less aged. Check the outside for scratches, dents, and marks. While the machine does not have to be spotless, it should at least look both presentable and well-maintained.

This step should go without saying but for the sake of completion: check if the automobile can still run. Under the assumption that the auto is being sold to someone who wants to drive it, no responsible seller will sell used car that does not run. Since most people will believe they are entitled to a test run, the seller should be prepared to allow the prospective buyer to take the machine out for a test run. Failure to do so can become detrimental to the sale of the car. As with the first step, making sure the engine actually runs is optional if the machine is being sold for parts.

Once the above steps have been completed, then the seller can proceed to setting up just how he intends to sell used car in the first place. The above steps are merely for helping any prospective seller out in making sure that the vehicle they intend to sell is in good condition and to avoid any mishaps during the selling process.
