How to Get the Most Out of Nurseries

When it comes to finding the perfect plant, tree, or shrub for your home, turn to area nurseries. Many people came back to these facilities in the spring months, and they are ready to begin the transformation of their garden or yard with the help of a few new purchases. Perhaps you want to put in that flowerbed you have held off on for so long. On the other hand, you may be anxious to get those pests out of your lawn. The good news is that a facility like this can help you with so much more than you may anticipate. Just take a look at some of the ways you can use these facilities to help you.

Get that Lawn Green

One of the best ways to use nurseries is to get your grass green again. If you have an incredible amount of weeds, hate the discoloration that occurs in specific areas, or you want to have a more lush landscape, turn to the professionals at this location. They can help you to determine what the underlying problem is. Then, they can offer both traditional and organic products to help you get the results you want. Sometimes, that expertise can make all of the difference.

Handle Those Critters

Often times, people use pest control products to get rid of the invasion of ants in their home. Other times, the goal is to simply keep fleas out of the grass, so your pets do not get them. You may have bigger problems, such as deer that eat your vegetable garden. These professionals can help you to find a solution for these problems as well. Perhaps the use of a smelly plant will help keep the deer away. You may be able to use natural products to help your pets to avoid fleas or use home barrier products to block out the problem of ants.

Focus on Beautification

Yet another reason to turn to nurseries is because they can help you transform your yard. Use their services to help add nutrient-rich soil to your garden, so your plants grow beautifully. Add flowers to your flowerpots. Invest some time in a few new plots for bushes or a flowering tree that you simply love. These facilities have what you need from the products and flowers to the experts to tell you exactly how to make it happen.

Invest some time and money into your home. Doing so will help you enjoy it more so. Let nurseries help you to make your dreams happen and handle any needs you may have. It really could be easier than you think.

Wikinews holds a follow-up interview with Max Riekse, Constitution Party candidate for the 2008 U.S. presidential election

Friday, April 25, 2008

In March, Wikinews held an exclusive interview with Max Riekse, one of the candidates for the Constitution Party nomination for the 2008 United States presidential election. With the Constitution Party’s national convention underway this weekend, we spoke with him one last time before he either becomes his party’s candidate or loses.

Riekse is a retired decorated Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army who served in both the Vietnam War and the Iraq War. He is also a former public school teacher and Assistant Professor of Military Science at Western Michigan University. He has a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from the University of South Florida as well as two M.A.s, one in Political Science and International Relations, the other in Education and History. Both are from Western Michigan University.

We asked him if he thinks he has a good shot at winning the Constitution Party nomination and ultimately the presidency. He replied, “I will know Saturday the 26th if I win the nomination of the Constitution Party. As to wining the general election, I’m very sure that I will do far better then we have done in the previous 20 years as a ‘third’ party. I’m not only more qualified to be commander in chief then either the Democrat or Republican, but will be far better for the country.”

When asked about America’s illegal immigration problem he replied, “I will send all 20 to 30 million home. End birth right babies; no social security for them, etc. They are here illegally; now what part of that does anyone not understand?”

Riekse is running for president because “the Republicans and Democrats would not be having candidates that would solve the problems we have in this country and I know that I could do a lot better with my 32 years of military experience and over 20 years in Education, both in the K-12 public school venue and teaching at the University level.”

Gay Talese on the state of journalism, Iraq and his life

Saturday, October 27, 2007

Gay Talese wants to go to Iraq. “It so happens there is someone that’s working on such a thing right now for me,” the 75-year-old legendary journalist and author told David Shankbone. “Even if I was on Al-Jazeera with a gun to my head, I wouldn’t be pleading with those bastards! I’d say, ‘Go ahead. Make my day.'”

Few reporters will ever reach the stature of Talese. His 1966 profile of Frank Sinatra, Frank Sinatra Has a Cold, was not only cited by The Economist as the greatest profile of Sinatra ever written, but is considered the greatest of any celebrity profile ever written. In the 70th anniversary issue of Esquire in October 2003, the editors declared the piece the “Best Story Esquire Ever Published.”

Talese helped create and define a new style of literary reporting called New Journalism. Talese himself told National Public Radio he rejects this label (“The term new journalism became very fashionable on college campuses in the 1970s and some of its practitioners tended to be a little loose with the facts. And that’s where I wanted to part company.”)

He is not bothered by the Bancrofts selling The Wall Street Journal—”It’s not like we should lament the passing of some noble dynasty!”—to Rupert Murdoch, but he is bothered by how the press supported and sold the Iraq War to the American people. “The press in Washington got us into this war as much as the people that are controlling it,” said Talese. “They took information that was second-hand information, and they went along with it.” He wants to see the Washington press corp disbanded and sent around the country to get back in touch with the people it covers; that the press should not be so focused on–and in bed with–the federal government.

Augusten Burroughs once said that writers are experience junkies, and Talese fits the bill. Talese–who has been married to Nan Talese (she edited James Frey‘s Million Little Piece) for fifty years–can be found at baseball games in Cuba or the gay bars of Beijing, wanting to see humanity in all its experience.

Below is Wikinews reporter David Shankbone’s interview with Gay Talese.

Why You Need Bulk Water Delivery Services In Clinton

byadmin

If there is a swimming pool at your home, then it’s important to make sure the water is as safe as possible. This is especially true for those who have young children living in their home and like to use the pool on a regular basis. Filling up the pool with a hose is not a good idea as there may be contaminants in the water. This is why there are bulk water delivery services available. These companies bring state certified pool water to your home so that your children can swim in water that’s not questionable. The human body soaks up chemicals through the skin, which can harm your children if there are toxins in the water they use for recreational purposes on a daily basis.

If you are looking for Bulk Water Delivery in Clinton, get in touch with East River Energy. This is one of the most popular choices for Bulk Water Delivery in Clinton because they offer free quotes on the water they provide. A reliable water delivery service will also give you the option of just topping a pool off or having it completely filled. You can call a water delivery service whenever you need your jacuzzi filled or topped off as well. The jacuzzi water is especially important to keep clean because the heat may cause bacteria to grow. The last thing people want to deal with is getting sick when they are trying to relax at home. Another important reason to get quality water for your pool is that many children like to open their eyes under water. While there will still be chlorine in the water, it will not be nearly as dangerous as if the pool was filled with a hose.

There will be a huge difference in the water quality once you switch to a delivery service. Many people don’t even realize how harsh their pool water really is until they have some delivered from a quality service. Get in touch with a bulk water delivery service in your area so you can find out more information on what they are able to help with. Think about the health of your family members who use the pool on a regular basis.

Steve Kubby, co-author of California Proposition 215, grows dangerously ill in US custody

Tuesday, January 31, 2006

Steve Kubby who was facing extradition from Canada, returned to California, was arrested, and is now in custody in Placer County, California Jail, pending a hearing today. He is a medical cannabis patient who relies on the drug to regulate the symptoms of malignant phenochromocytoma, a cancer of the adrenal gland which can cause the level of adrenaline in his system to fluctuate out of control. If left unregulated, this can result in sudden, fatal heart attack, stroke, pneumonia, and a variety of other conditions.

Kubby was arrested on arrival at San Francisco International Airport Thursday night on behalf of the Placer County Sheriff’s Department, having exhausted his extradition appeals in Canada. He was taken to San Mateo County Jail, pending transport to Placer County Jail. While at San Mateo County Jail, he was reportedly denied access to medication and sufficient bedding. On arrival at Placer County Jail, his blood pressure was dangerously high, and so was given Marinol, a THC synthetic.

Communication with Kubby is highly restricted. According to his wife, Michele, Kubby has been placed in solitary confinement, denied access several times to sufficient bedding to keep him warm, and denied access to the cannabis which, according to several experts on his universally fatal condition, has been solely responsible for keeping him alive for decades. The Marinol he is being given partially mitigates his symptoms, but does not completely control them. He now grows dangerously ill.

In particular, he relates how he was ordered by prison medical staff to take beta-blockers for his blood-pressure. Due to the episodic nature of the adrenaline spikes causing the high blood-pressure, according to all of his doctors, the beta-blockers would likely kill him once the spikes dropped. In an interview by phone with journalist Pat McCartney over the weekend, Kubby reported that, for refusing the beta-blockers, he was coerced into signing a waiver absolving the prison of liability, and has since been refused all care, including even Tylenol for pain management.

Activists concerned with medical marijuana, human rights and prison reform will hold a rally at noon today in front of the Placer County Superior Courthouse, where Steve Kubby is scheduled to be arraigned on violation of probation charges.

Kubby was a co-author of California’s Compassionate Use Act of 1996, also known as Proposition 215. He fled to Canada in 2001 to escape the possibility of incarceration for an extended period without access to cannabis, a possibility which, in both his and expert medical opinion, would certainly prove fatal.
